PRE-CARE ADVICE
Swelling and bruising: Redness, swelling and small lumps are common following polynucleotide treatment. Lumps and unevenness following treatment will normally settle within a few days but in some cases may take up to two weeks to resolve.
Pain Management: Patients may experience redness and lumps or soreness after their injections, which can be managed with paracetamol if required. Use a cold compress to reduce swelling and bruising but avoid direct ice contact with the skin.
Avoid alcohol and caffeine: avoid alcohol and caffeine for 24 hours following filler injections as this can make swelling and bruising worse and prolong healing.
Avoid Touching: Do not touch or massage the treated area for at least 24 hours to allow the polynucleotides to settle properly and to avoid displacing or moving the product. Do not massage any lumps as these are often swelling massaging them will make them worse.
Exercise and Heat: Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, and hot showers for 24-48 hours post-treatment.
Supplements: Avoid taking aspirin, Ibruprofen, St Johns Wart and Fish oil supplements, following treatment as these can increase the risk of bleeding and bruising. Unless prescribed by your doctor.
Physical exercise: I recommend waiting at least 24 hours after your Botox procedure to partake in any physical exercise.
Sleeping: Propping yourself up to sleep on pillows following treatment can help to reduce the amount of swelling.
